Blepharoplasty is an eyelid surgery that can brighten one’s face and restore a person’s youthful appearance by removing loose, sagging skin or by modifying puffy, bulging bags of fat from the upper and/or lower lids.
Your eyelid surgeon may operate on the upper and/or the lower eyelids (or double eyelid surgery) at the same time. In some cases, sagging eyebrows and deep lines in the forehead may require additional correction with a brow lift. Incisions are well-hidden in the eyes’ natural fold. Other complementary treatments that enhance this effect may include Botox, fillers, fat injections and Ultrasonic/radiofrequency skin lifting.
Because the skin around your eyes is thin, you should expect some swelling or discoloration. Within a few weeks, the thin surgical scars will become less visible and gradually blend into your eyes‘ natural lines. The result can be more open, more youthful and refreshed eyes.
